Join us for the Maritime Concert Opera’s special concert performance of Henry Purcell’s opera “Dido and Aeneas” with an all-East Coast cast, accompanied by the Blue Engine String Quartet on modern instruments and conducted by music director Tara Scott. This early English opera (composed around 1689) will be sung in English. Based on Book IV of Virgil’s epic The Aeneid, it includes some of the most beautiful arias and choruses ever written in English opera. Because the opera is only an hour long,
