An introductory workshop on screenwriting for film. This workshop will explore various approaches to screenwriting and storytelling. Its goal is to enable participants to clarify their ideas and leave with a stronger, energized vision of their story and a pragmatic plan to finish their first draft. Tara Thorne is a recovering journalist and arts worker in Halifax. Her debut feature Compulsus screened at festivals worldwide in 2022 and a theatrical release in Canada in 2024. Its followup, Lakeview , has just wrapped a two-year festival run. She is in development on her third feature, Jo & Frankie , with Melani Wood and Jenna MacMillan producing. Tara is the Operations Manager for WIFT-AT and has also worked in administrative capacities for AFCOOP, HIFF, Screen Nova Scotia, Lunenburg Doc Fest, and the Atlantic International Film Festival.Visit event page
